About Nola

Nola’s passion for creative writing dates back to sixth grade, when her short story submission to the Larry Neal’s Writers’ Competition, a literary award from the DC Commission of the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH), won Third Place in the Youth Fiction category. She received her first-ever paycheck of $100 and was hooked.

Growing up with family in both the US and France, Nola developed from a young age a penchant for travel. She nourished this passion by spending her twenties living and traveling abroad, capturing her experiences in creative non-fiction narratives. Countries she has called home include the USA, France, Italy, U.K., and Singapore. Her travel narratives have been published in Matador Sports Network, The Women’s International Perspective and Alternet.org.

Nola holds her BA in English and French Literature from Vassar College and her MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from University College London in the U.K. Her multifaceted career has spanned book publishing, semi-professional soccer, and advertising technology at digital media and tech companies.
